Sherlock Ai

Trust & safety

Report & removal

We review every report · Urgent cases prioritised

1. Start here

An important limitation first, because it decides where your request has to go: Sherlock Ai does not host any of the images or pages that appear in results, and it does not build or maintain the search index. The App sends a photo to a third-party provider, FaceCheck.ID, and shows you what that provider returns.

That means we can act on how the App is used, but we cannot delete a photo from a website we do not control, and we cannot remove an entry from an index we do not operate. The sections below say exactly who can.

2. I want my face removed from search results

There are three separate places a face can live, and each needs its own request.

The website that hosts the photo

This is the only way to remove the image itself. Contact the site's operator or abuse address and ask for removal. If the image was posted without your consent, or it is intimate imagery, most platforms have an expedited process and many jurisdictions give you a legal right to erasure.

The search index

To have your face excluded from the index that powers our results, submit an opt-out directly to the provider at facecheck.id. Once removed there, the face stops appearing in Sherlock Ai results as well. We cannot submit this on your behalf, but write to us if you cannot find the right channel and we will point you to it.

Our own systems

We hold nothing to remove: submitted photos are deleted immediately after each search, and search history exists only on the searcher's own device. There is no copy of your face on our servers to delete.

3. Report misuse of the App

If you believe someone is using Sherlock Ai to stalk, harass, dox or surveil a person, tell us. This breaches section 4 of the Terms of Use, and we can suspend access and forfeit credits.

Because the App has no accounts, we identify offenders through device identifiers, purchase records and search patterns. Any detail you can give — screenshots, timing, what was shown to you — materially improves what we can do.

4. Illegal content in results

If a result links to child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or other clearly illegal content, report it to us and we will escalate it to the search provider and, where appropriate, to the relevant authorities.

For child sexual abuse material, please also report directly to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children at report.cybertip.org or your national hotline. They can act far faster than we can.

5. What to send us

Reports and removal requests

support@facesearchai.app

Copy this into your email and fill in what applies:

Type of report: removal / misuse / illegal content / other

URLs concerned: (paste the links exactly as shown in the App)

What happened: (a few sentences)

Your relation: (the person depicted / their representative /
                   a witness / other)

Device ID: (only if you are an App user — Account screen,
tap the RevenueCat ID row to copy)

Contact: (an email address we can reply to)

Do not attach photographs. We do not need them, and we would rather not receive them. Links and description are enough.

We acknowledge reports within 2 business days. Reports involving safety or illegal content are handled first.

6. If you are in immediate danger

Contact your local emergency services first

We are a small team reviewing email. We cannot intervene in an ongoing threat, and waiting for our reply is not a safety plan. If someone is threatening or stalking you, contact the police, and preserve evidence — screenshots with visible dates and URLs — before anything is taken down.

We will still act on your report, and we will cooperate with lawful requests from authorities investigating misuse of the Service.
